About Gerald

Gerald Keddy is the Member of Parliament for South Shore – St. Margaret’s. He has proudly served his constituents since 1997. Mr. Keddy is a graduate from Acadia University in Wolfville, Nova Scotia. He has worked as a farmer, a driller in Nova Scotia’s offshore oil industry and a Christmas tree producer and exporter. He is a past president of the Christmas Tree Council of Nova Scotia.

During his fourteen year tenure as Parliamentarian, Mr. Keddy has held many portfolios including Party Whip and Chair of the House of Commons Fisheries Committee. Currently, he holds the position of Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of International Trade, for the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency and for the Atlantic Gateway.

Mr. Keddy is an avid reader and outdoorsmen. In his spare time, he enjoys canoeing, hunting and fishing. Mr. Keddy makes his home in New Ross, Nova Scotia with his wife, Judy, and their six children.
